Becoming a mom is a magical and chaotic thing. Staying organized through everything can feel like a challenge, but I’m here to provide you with some tools to help you stay organized as a new mom.
1. Baby Tracking App 📱
There are so many things to keep track of with a newborn. The last time they ate, what side they ate off last for breastfeeding, what time you pumped last, and even how many dirty diapers they’ve had. Trying to keep track of all this information can be very overwhelming.
That’s why I looked and looked to find the perfect app for me where I could keep track of everything. I ended up trying the Huckleberry App, and now I’m using it for my second baby. You’re easily able to keep track of everything and get insight into your baby’s daily routine.
Download the app here.

2. Notebook📓
If you’re not into keeping track of everything on your phone, a notebook will work just as well to track the baby’s feedings, sleep, pumping, and more. Even though I used an app, there were still some things that I wanted to keep track of that I knew I would forget if I didn’t write it down.
Some additional things I kept track of with a notebook:
- Times I took medication after my c-section
- Questions to ask the pediatrician
You could also use the Notes app on your phone if you prefer a more tech-based option. For me, there was something about writing the information down on paper that made it easier for me.
3. Storage Caddy & Bins
Keeping all the essentials in a diaper caddy or basket helps when you’re in a bind and need something quick.
List of everything I keep in my storage caddy for a newborn:
Extra outfit and onesie
Diapers and wipes
Diaper rash cream and baby lotion
Nail clippers and file
Nose sucker
Burp cloths (multiple!)
Extra outfit and onesie

This is just an example of what your caddy can look like. This is the caddy I have in our livingroom for my 5 month old.
List of items I keep in the storage caddy for me:
- Hand sanitizer
- Nursing pads
- Milk catcher
- Nipple balm
- Snack
If your baby is anything like my first daughter, it wasn’t too soon after she was born that I had to pack up her newborn clothes. This was a very sentimental moment, but I realized that it just added to the mess if I wasn’t on top of packing up the outfits she grew out of.
I kept a bin in her room where I could put the clothes in once I knew she wasn’t fitting in them anymore. Then, once all the newborn clothes were packed up, the bin went to our basement for storage.
4. Bedside Caddy for Nighttime🌙
A stocked bedside caddy was my saving grace for late-night feedings during the first few weeks with a newborn.
What I kept in my bedside caddy:
- Lots of diapers and wipes
- Burp cloths
- Extra swaddles
- Extra bassinet sheets
- An extra pacifier (if your baby takes one)
- Gas drops
I always made sure to have extras of everything because my babies would spit up a lot. I was also recovering from a c-section, so it helped to have everything I would need during the night within reach. After the first week, you’ll learn exactly what you need at night to help make feedings go smoother.
5. Baby Wearing/ Carrier

Using a baby carrier is a great way to help yourself stay organized. It gives you the freedom to stay productive while keeping your baby content.
Check out my post on my favorite baby carriers to see which ones I love the most and why.
